A canonical list of companies across the AI ecosystem — frontier labs, generative media, coding agents, infrastructure, biotech, robotics, and defence.
This is not a ranking: companies are ordered by the year they were founded, most recently founded at the top. Every founding date, founder list, and current status is independently checked against a primary source before publication. Where a source describes a founding team rather than a single founder, we preserve that distinction rather than simplifying it.
Status reflects the company’s current state; historical changes remain part of its trajectory.
